The Healing Experience
Wellness Education workshops introduces participants to a holistic approach to self-care. Learning to take personal responsibility for one's wellness, can give a sense of empowerment and well-being. Wellness is a positive approach to living, resulting in the well-being of the mind, body, and spirit. As a result participants can have more effective interactions in their relationships, with their families and the community. The holistic wellness principles in eleven domains of Wellness; Mental , Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Financial, Creative, Occupational, Family/Community, Cultural/Historical and Spiritual are explored by participants in a group setting. Our series of workshops are designed to empower participants, increase self-esteem/resiliency and address social, life skill , and character development.The wellness workshops promote an atmosphere "Safe space" where participants can explore their own issues of levels of burden, emotional maturity, and lifestyle management. Our "Healing Grab Bag" of workshops workshops provide an introduction to Ancient therapies such as Relaxation Therapy, Reiki, Tai Chi Kung, Aromatherapy, Yoga, Acupressure and Massage.
Recreational Therapy is a treatment modality designed to use Recreational activities to tap into the "Playful Spirit" enhance participants healthy lifestyle and manage personal challenges. It is a non-threatening, non-invasive means to address behavioral and health challenges. Recreation encourages cultural and community integration.
Our presentations utilizes the creative arts, infusing play, wellness education, leisure education, self-expression exercises, social, spiritual, physical and cultural activities.
The workshops of special interest include; self-esteem, stress/anger management, resiliency, addressing issues in areas such as leadership, trauma, depression, lack of leisure and its barriers, relationships, character development, peace leadership, conflict transformation and spiritual growth.
Restorative Practices & Discipline
Restorative Practices and Discipline is a process that positively influences human behavior. It is a collaborative, non-violent form of communication that promotes conflict transformation. Through conflict transformation and cooperative dialog it can address bullying, conflict between neighbors, families, friends, co-workers and governments. Restorative Practice is a peaceful, cooperative, productive approach to dealing with wrongdoing. During the presentation of our workshops
the participants develop basic skills and techniques in communication, stress/anger management that help reduce mis-communication and creates an opportunity for constructive change. Restorative Practices responds to real life and relationships.
